Dai Kurokawa

Japanese photojournalist Dai Kurokawa has spent much of his career in Asia and Africa as a staff photographer for an international news agency.

Starting his career as an independent photojournalist in Southeast Asia, he joined the European Pressphoto Agency’s Toyko desk in 2007. Working out of Vietnam from 2008, he subsequently moved to Africa. There, Dai focused on pressing issues in Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Somalia and South Sudan as the East Africa chief photographer for the European Pressphoto Agency.

Dai has won a number of photographic awards over the years, such as a World Press Photo award in 2020.

Dai is based in Paris, France.
