Valdrin Xhemaj, born in 1978 in Pristina, Kosovo, is an accomplished photojournalist with extensive experience covering war and sports. During the Kosovo War of 1998-1999, he paused his studies at the University of Pristina’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering and began working as a photojournalist for the European Pressphoto Agency, covering events throughout the region.

Since 2003, Valdrin’s fieldwork has taken him to Iraq, Palestine and protests in the Balkans, among others. He has also documented sporting events such as the Olympic Games, major football matches, Formula 1 races, Wimbledon and world championships in athletics, handball and swimming.

His diverse work experience has honed his ability to evaluate news leads and tips; develop compelling stories; and effectively organise and lead field teams. His exceptional communication, cooperation, service and critical thinking skills, plus his unwavering attention to detail, have all contributed to his success as a photojournalist.

Valdrin is dedicated, passionate and energetic, with broad experience in specialised and custom photography. He excels in hitting deadlines, working in high-pressure environments, and capturing high-quality images — all while displaying the highest journalistic ethics.
